VOLLEYBALL CAMP ATHLETES
AUGUST 5 - 11, 2007
EQUIPMENT LIST

Welcome to the 46th Annual Legion Volleyball Camp at the Peace Garden. To make your stay at the camp as enjoyable as possible, please be sure to bring with you the following equipment, over and above the items identified in the Key Information Sheet. (PLEASE CLICK HERE) Please have everything clearly marked with your name.
Our goal is to provide the best possible volleyball and summer camp
experience for all our athletes.
We try to accomplish this by providing:
- quality coaching
- athletes grouped by ability to allow competitive situations
- practice schedules that accommodate beginner and advanced
athletes
- social activities that develop friendship and cohesion
Athletes train three times a day on indoor, hard court, grass and sand courts. As we are outside for some of our practices, make sure you have some kind of headgear and sunscreen. Kneepads are a good idea for both indoor and outdoor practices, and they are a good investment for your games later in the fall. Plenty of socks and a couple of pairs of shoes are recommended (one old pair, and some older clothing). Sandals or thongs are recommended for between practices.
Once you check in and are settled in your dormitory on Sunday afternoon, you will begin your volleyball program at once. Skill and physical tests take place to help us divide players into appropriate groups so that the best possible learning environment is achieved.
Practices and competitions continue during the week, which culminates with a tournament on Friday night and Saturday morning. The camp ends at approximately noon, after our awards ceremony.
PRE-CAMP PREPARATION it is suggested that all athletes do some sort of stretching, jumping or running, one-two weeks before the start of camp. Some players get sore if they have not been active during the summer.
Have a good holiday and well see you at the Peace Garden.
