Volleyball (Week 4)

Evan is currently a teacher at Miles Macdonell Collegiate in Winnipeg, home of one of Manitoba's top volleyball programs. He completed his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees at Saint-Boniface University, while playing for their men’s volleyball team.

Evan has been coaching volleyball for the past 15 years, for both school teams and with WinMan Volleyball Club. He has coached many different age levels, from junior high to high school where his teams have won several divisional championships at the Junior High level. He has also coached 16U and 18U Team Manitoba provincial teams for multiple years. Currently, Evan is the Head Coach of the Women’s Volleyball Team at Université de Saint-Boniface in Winnipeg.

Evan’s main assistant coaches are Austin Coombes and Julia Johnson. Austin is a former Legion Athletic Camp athlete and coaches at Kildonan East Collegiate and with WinMan Volleyball Club. Julia is also a former camper and has been a coach with Evan since he has been a Head Coach at camp. As a coaching staff, they have a good balance of energy, enthusiasm, competitiveness and humour to ensure all athletes have fun while improving their skills.

“The Legion Athletic Camp is a great camp for athletes of all levels. Athletes can always find people of their skill level at the camp, and the amount of training and coaching every athlete receives in a week is unrivaled.”
