Entering his 11th year of coaching at the Legion Athletic Camp, Dean Kachur is a familiar face in southwestern Manitoba coaching circles having coached several championship teams in various sports while instructing at Killarney Collegiate Institute..
His overall coaching career spans 16 years and he brings a desire and dedication to the Legion Athletic Camp summer program.
It is a chance to share a week with fellow coaches and friends and to learn from each other and improve your own coaching techniques, says Kachur 35, of the now annual summer experience. I also enjoy the chance to meet and coach new athletes who I will likely run into again in the volleyball circle. I want athletes, regardless of skill level, to leave an overall improved player. This in turn should help them either make or better their school team that they are returning to.
Kachur also coaches the club team Killarney Raiders.
