Head Coach Chris Courchaine
Volleyball
August 7 – August 13, 2011 (Week 4)

Chris Courchaine is another in a long line of Legion Athletic Camp alumnus to advance from the athlete ranks to coach.
Courchaine attended camp while a student at Niverville Collegiate Institute in Manitoba. A two-time provincial volleyball all-star, his high school career was highlighted by a 1989 provincial championship.
Courchaine was also part of Manitoba's silver medal juvenile boys squad at national championships. His athletic abilities carried over to the hardwood with a high school provincial basketball title.
In university he was a member of the University of Manitoba Junior Bisons.
Courchaine has coached 21 years at the camp, the last five in a head coaching position. He currently teaches at Winnipegs Fort Richmond High School where he coaches boys varsity volleyball.
Of his Legion Athletic Camp experience he states: "It’s been a great working with kids from all across Canada and at all levels."
He also makes note of the sand volleyball court (also included 16 outdoor grass courts and two gymnasium courts) situated at the Legion Athletic Camp. "Having the sand court opens up another style of game and it is one of the best (sand) courts I have ever seen."
