Head Coach Erica Rance
Since the summer of 2007, Erica Rance has been coming to the Legion Athletic Camp as an assistant coach in a couple of different camps. She helped coach the Wilderness and Elementary camps when they were still available, and has consistently shown a passion and dedication to the soccer camp for the past 9 summers.
Studying Physical Education at Brandon University led her to a student teaching placement overseas in Kuwait in 2010, where she spent three years running the Phys.-Ed department, teaching 1-5 physical education, and 1-5 swimming lessons at the American Creativity Academy. While in Kuwait, she coached JV and Varsity soccer, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and track. She spent her free time travelling and playing on a co-ed softball team. Since the summer of 2013, Rance has been back living in Manitoba. She currently teaches grade 3-6 in Prairie Spirit School Division. During her spare time, she coaches U14 outdoor soccer for Winnipeg South End United Soccer Club. She also enjoys helping out with the Kids of Steel triathlon races each summer.
“I am excited to be part of a brand new camp this summer, and I am thrilled that it will offer so many different activities for kids to try! My hope is that young athletes will jump at this opportunity to experience an entire week filled with different sports, and then they will want to come back year after year!”
Assisting Erica this year are 2 outstanding young coaches: Ben Duthoit who has worked with the camp Basketball program the past 5 years and is a special projects coach with the University of Winnipeg and Shelby Boubonnais who has worked with the Camp volleyball program for several years.
