Head Coach Sarah Gould (Fort Francis)
Soccer
August 1 -7, 2010 (Week 4)
August 8-14, 2010 (Week 5)
Sarah Gould has been involved with the sport of soccer since the age of five and continues her passion on the pitch for the Fort Frances Borderland Soccer Club. Gould attended the Legion Athletic Camp as an athlete for six years along with five summers as an assistant coach under Rob Cox and Aidan Foley. This will be her third summer as head coach for the two-week summer program. A graduate of the University of Guelph, Gould has coached in the Fort Frances Youth Soccer Club (FFYSC) for over 15 years. She is currently president of the FFYSC.
An NCCP trained coach, Gould says of her coaching at the Legion Athletic Camp: “I love the atmosphere at Legion Athletic camp and the satisfying feeling you get from providing such a fun and rewarding experience to young people. Above everything I enjoy sharing my love for the game. Some of my greatest memories I have growing up came from my time at Peace Gardens.”
Of her coaching philosophy: “To excel as a coach you must deliver a program that focuses on player development and provides a positive and enjoyable learning experience. I believe in fostering a creative coaching style that promotes not only the development of teamwork, but of integrity, discipline and perseverance in each individual player. “If you’ve got it to give... You’ve got to give it all.”
