Head Coach Andrew Kitchen
Soccer (Week 3)
Andrew is currently a teacher at Fairhaven Elementary School in Saskatoon where he teaches grade 7/8 Physical Education and Social Studies. He has been teaching for 6 years in Saskatchewan. Andrew attended the University of Regina where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geography. He then moved to Saskatoon and received his Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan and has recently finished his Masters in Education with a focus on Outdoor Education.
As well as teaching, Andrew has a passion for coaching. He has coached for Regina Football Club for several seasons and recently has taken up coaching school soccer and track& field. Andrew has several soccer coaching levels and has been known to help out with the Saskatchewan Soccer Association and soccer clubs around Saskatchewan.
Andrew has been attending the Legion Athletic Camp for 18 years, learning under past coaches Aiden Foley, Rob Cox, and Sarah Gould. He brings a modern approach to soccer coaching tactics and believes “the more the athletes can touch the ball, the greater the improvement.” He believes in a fun and quick paced practice, while creating time for new friendships and learning opportunities. “I can’t wait to meet a bunch of new athletes at soccer camp!!”
Assisting Andrew this year will be Rick Ricard and Erica Rance. Both have been assistant coaches at Soccer Camp for several years. Rick teaches at Morris School and Erica teaches in the Prairie Rose School Division. All three coaches are excited to be back together coaching and developing the skills of the athletes.
